In the Wild
- Habitat: Hermit crabs live on the beaches, mud flats and shallow waters of the Bay.
- Diet: Hermit crabs eat algae and detritus.
- Predators: The hermit crab is eaten by large fish, blue crabs and snails.
- Size: The size of the hermit crab depends on the species.
- Breeding: Hermit crabs go through several stages of life cycles including a free swimming stage.
