A Jack Dempsey lives in tank 25. His name is Bubbles!!! He usually eats 4-5 small squid pieces but he has been getting skinnier so we had to start feeding him as much as he could keep down. Sometimes, Bubbles eats but a minute later he coughs up 2 or more of the squid pieces we fed him. If he doesn’t start eating properly he can’t gain weight and be a healthy fishy. There is no need to fill water because the tank does that itself. We also need to be very careful when cleaning Bubbles’s tank because we feed him before so he will stay calmer. It works unless you accidentally touch him with the algae brush. He will hurl some more. We are trying harder to get Bubbles to eat and hope he survives.
In tank 25, a Jack Dempsey lives happily. This fish is roughly the size of 2 large hands placed on top of each other. His name is Bubbles. In this tank I clean the inside using an algae brush and the outside using a rag and vinegar. His usual meal is 10 small pieces of squid, which he eats with ease. I enjoy taking care of this tank because you never know what Bubbles may do, for example on many occasions he has coughed up his food and then eats it again. Taking care of Bubbles keeps me on my toes!
In tank 7 there is a striped killy fish. The killy is small and looks kind of brown and it swims pretty fast. like the flounder it eats a small piece of squid. like the flounder i feed it and fill up its water supply.
In tank 15, spadefish used to live there. Sadly, both of the fish died after the weekend passed. They used to eat two tiny pieces of squid each class. I used to clean the inside of the tank using the algae brush and I cleaned the outside using vinegar and a rag. Their names were Cookies and Creme. One of them had a darkened spot on it’s back, so we called him Cookies. Creme had no spot and sounded good with the name Cookies, so that is what we named him. Creme was the first of the 2 to die. The spadefish were probably my favorite little guys in the whole lab because the were small and adorable.
All the fish in tank 15 have sadly died. They were 2 spade fish named Milk and Cookies. Milk died in the 2nd week of school, on Monday we sadly lost Cookies.
In tank 15 there were two spadefish, they were small and each had either a unique mark or no mark. We had also named them Cookies and Creme. Cookies has a mark on its side that looked like a burn mark. Creme had no mark which earned them their matching names. They used to eat small pieces of squid. For this tank I would add more water when it was needed. Sadly, both fish died over a weekend.
Tank 1 has 1 flounder that eats squid chunks. The flounder has black spots on a tan body and eats all of the food we give it. Me, Grant, Danial and Neel only have to feed it and fill up the water.
My tank has one flounder in it. It is very fast it and its a smooth sandy color, it is also flat. The flounder eats a small piece of squid ever Monday and Thursday. Personally I feed the tank and fill its water back up.
